The Colour of Charles Fraser of InverallochieThe Colour of Charles Fraser of Inverallochie, who commanded the 2nd Battalion of Clan Fraser during the ‘45, and the whole clan at Culloden in the absence of Simon Fraser. Charles Fraser was killed during the battle and the above flag captured and burnt later along with other captured flags in Edinburgh.

The flag shows the Lovat arms of the stag’s head (a symbol of the Frasers even down to the ‘House of Fraser’ department store today), the 3 strawberry flowers, white here as only Lord Lovat’s colour could have silver flowers and the Latin motto:

‘Sine Sanguine Victor’ - ‘Without blood a conqueror’
